Hello Everyone,
Last issue I made this statement;
"I've received a couple of requests asking, What is the best or easiest genealogy program to use? My reply is that Family Tree Maker seems to be the easiest one that I have found. Does anyone else have a favorite & if so why?" I owe everyone an apology I didn't get section 10 of Wagon Ruts West done this past month, sorry.

Subject: Great Site!May God Bless your efforts with this site. I am Terry Keeney from Florida. My Father was Ray Keeney, his Father, Archie Keeney, his Father, Elijah Keeney from Michigan. I am trying to figure out if there is a connection with the Southern Michigan Keeney's. I found an Elijah and Eliza Keeney on ancestry.com, with a Daughter, Margarette who married and went to Kentucky.
I know all of My Great Great Grandfathers children's names, and there is no record of a Margrette (not sure on spelling). My Great Great Grandmothers (Elijahs wife) maiden name was Lovell. I design festivals, concerts, and special celebrity charity events and tours worldwide and have little time to dig in the family. This year I was elected to the board of Keeney Park at Lake Montcalm in Michigan and I have a need to find more, and maybe someday, design a great Keeney event.
God Bless your efforts, I know somewhere, we are all related from Adam and Eve!

Subject: Cora KeeneyWould like any information on Cora Keeney born 3-27-1877. Wife of Howard Edward Lafferty (they are my grandparents). Daughter of John Patrick and Mary Francis Keeney. Cora died at the age of 39, when my father was 9, the year would have been 1916. Any information on her or her family and if any photo of her at any age so we can see what she looked like.
thank you

Subject: THANKS!!!
I just wanted to let you know that I've enjoyed viewing your web site. I don't get on the "net" that often, but I found your site 2 or 3 weeks ago. When I get more time I'll send you some info on our Keeney family. Unfortunately, we just lost the last of our first generation of U.S. Keeneys a few weeks ago. Like so many of the Irish immigrants with large families, some were born in Ireland, my dad was born in Scotland on the way over here, and my last uncle was born over here in the U.S. He was a Catholic brother, Bros. "Pat" Keeney, a member of the Passionists Society. He had a good long life, but it was sad to lose the last of "those" Keeneys. More in the future. Again, thanks for your work with this "hobby". My personal choice for a genie program is PAF 5.x. I have used their programs since about 1989 and altho I hate Windows it's still very easy to use, very intuitive and best of all, free to download from the net with all kinds of different languages. You can even get all the special characters for foreign tongues without changing your entire Windows program. There are also RootsWeb mailing lists for most versions for PAF if you run into difficulties.
I use Brother's Keeper for their Ahnentafel list as you can tailor it to just as few or many pieces of data that you want. All other programs are narrative style, which I find unnecessary. Just give me name and birth date and occasionally the death date.
I find Family Tree Make one of the most difficult to use, plus the fact that their file folders list names so that you have to stand on your head to read them. The only good thing about that program is that it makes it easy to put a family page on the web. Granted it's very simple, but it's easy to update when you have some new material.From the Message Board
Salem Witch Trials Posted by David Kinne on July 31, 2001 at 14:24:52:
Quite by accident, I found out that Henry Kenne (Kinne) was one of many accusers during the Salem Witch trials in 1692. Henry (of Henry and Ann fame) was married to a Putnam (I bet related to the Putman child that started all the witch accusations). Seems ole Henry testified in court against Martha Cory. She was one of the first to be hanged.
I am eleventh generation, direct descendant to Henry Kinne. I hope to get to Danvers Mass someday and look for the old graves of my ancestors. The Henry Kinne House burned down in 1696, same year Henry died. Interstate 95 goes right through the old property.
Anybody have any interesting dark history about the witch killing Kinnes???550 User unknown
After sending out the note about the read recipit on the 27th of August each of the following was kicked back as 550 User unknown, does anyone have contact with any of them?
